Starting from characterful Montpelier we continued on a
green waterside ride to the historic Snuff Mill and beyond...
We met at Montpelier Station and followed the steep narrow
streets on to St Werburghs. Then through Ashley and Stapleton to
follow the River Frome and visit Snuff Mills and Oldbury Park. We had a
peep at Fishponds and the classic village green at
Frenchay.
We stopped at the Snuff Mills cafe with covered seating in
the open air providing sandwiches and tea or coffee.
We whizzed back down the hill and followed a cycleway across
fields by Stoke Park and Hermitage Wood and back through Horfield.
Those with young children were able to make the ride shorter by staying at
Snuff Mills and be picked up again as the leading group returned from Frenchay
